What is the best way to keep my cat's litter box area clean?
i have 2 sweet male cats that when they get out of their litter box they bring some kitty litter with them, now i can’t have a closed litter box because the one cat feels cornered and will pee outside the box ( found this out the hard way and had to research to fix the problem) and i’m moving into a new house, but the bathrooms are too small to put a litter box, i’m giving them their own bedroom but i want to keep it clean, any suggestions would be appreciated!

I put a little plastic matt under the poop-bin. Once a day I dump the extra litter back in the box. I also keep a dust buster nearby, which helps get anything that the mat did not. The dust buster is actually mounted on the wall right above the poop-bin so it is really convenient
You can pick up a spikey plastic mat to put in front of the litter box (pick this up at any pet store). This will grab a lot of it, but I would also put down a throw rug that you can just shake out and drop in the wash when you need to.
I work at an animal shelter, and all we do to reduce the stench, is use scented litter, and sprinkle litter deoderizer with baking soda (sold at pet stores) inside every day. Clean the box frequently and wash the box every other day (less if you want). Use bleach to wash to disinfect and eliminate odor. Also, sweep the area around and wash whenever needed.
